Children’s Health and Food – Impact on Urban Health
Impact on Urban Health (IOUH) – part of Guys & St. Thomas’ Foundation – is a charity that uses impact investing to address the health inequality from which people living in cities are disproportionately negatively impacted.
Jemma and her associates support the Children’s Health and Food team who, in turn, offer funding and expertise to local, borough, national and international partners as part of a 10-year, £35 million programme. Supports include foresight analysis around the factors that affect the healthiness of food environments and strategic guidance about how to maximise the use of these insights within various portfolios of work.
National stakeholder roundtable events have also been convened to explore a range of issues including ESG, food and health investments, the alignment of NGOs requirements from the food industry and the development of a position statement on ultra-processed foods.
“I’ve worked with Jemma in a number of guises over 3 years and have learnt so much. I first commissioned her to provide strategic and expert input to the childhood obesity programme at Impact on Urban Health, I was incredibly impressed at how Jemma brought together different disciplines – including nutritional and food science, built environment and expertise in working with both large and small businesses to drive impact – to provide new insight and astute advice which helped shape and deliver multiple projects and partnerships. Jemma has been great to work with; providing agile support, foresight and facilitation. Her expertise across a broad range of subjects and focus on real world impact has been incredibly useful to me and the team, I’d recommend working with her again”
